David Sherrill

David Sherrill is a Lecturer and Program Director for Land Surveying & Geomatics in the Department of Construction Management at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's School of Engineering. He holds multiple professional licenses, including surveyor certifications across six U.S. states and FAA pilot credentials for drone/helicopter operations. With over three decades of industry experience, he concurrently manages Sherrill Real Estate Investment Company and serves as CFO for engineering firms Sherrill Associates and RSM Geospatial.

His technical expertise encompasses geomatics, land surveying, construction project management, and geospatial mapping. He has contributed to significant infrastructure projects such as the Thomas Eagleton U.S. Courthouse and St. Louis Lower Meramec Basin Sanitary Sewers. Professionally, he has shaped industry standards as past Chair of the Illinois Land Surveyors Exam Board and Governor of the National Society of Professional Surveyors.
