David Sheinberg is a Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Brown University, with a research focus on how the brain processes dynamic sensory information for object and scene recognition. He earned his AB in Computer Science and Psychology from Yale University (1989) and a PhD in Cognitive Science from Brown (1994), followed by postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine and the Max Planck Institute.
- Research Areas: Neural coding, optogenetics, visual attention, object recognition, and perceptual learning in primates.
- Awards: National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship (1993), Sloan Fellow (2001-2002), and Manning Assistant Professor (2005).
- Recent Publications: Explore visual simulation, neural dynamics of object recognition, and optogenetic tools in primates, with keywords spanning Cognitive Neuroscience, Neural Plasticity, and Visual Processing.
- Labs & Collaborations: Leads the Sheinberg Lab at Brown, affiliated with the Institute for Brain Science and interdisciplinary neuroscience training programs.
