David Sears is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology & Research Methodology at Purdue University's Educational Studies unit. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychological Studies in Education from Stanford University (2006) and a B.A. in Psychology from Reed College (1998). Dr. Sears has been affiliated with Purdue since 2006, previously serving as Assistant Professor (2006-2014), Clinical Assistant Professor (2014-2017), and Clinical Associate Professor (2017-present).
His research examines:
- Collaborative learning dynamics and knowledge transfer mechanisms
- Task design principles for productive educational interactions
- STEM education effectiveness and learning outcomes
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis of educational methodologies
