معرفی
David Schmitz is Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Chicago, specializing in experimental neutrino physics. His research focuses on neutrino interactions and oscillations using liquid argon time projection chambers (LArTPCs).
Schmitz leads projects within the Fermilab Short-Baseline Neutrino program including SBND and MicroBooNE experiments. His group develops analysis techniques for neutrino interaction signatures and oscillation measurements.
Current work investigates sterile neutrino hypotheses and prepares for DUNE long-baseline measurements. Schmitz's detector development includes novel particle identification methods for LArTPCs.
