David S. Muraskin

David S. Muraskin serves as Professorial Lecturer in Law at George Washington University Law School and concurrently holds the position of Litigation Director for Public Justice’s Food Project in Washington, DC. His professional focus centers on impact litigation to advance sustainable alternatives to industrial animal agriculture through constitutional, consumer, worker, and environmental legal challenges.

Mr. Muraskin's research and practice critically examine the legal frameworks governing food systems, emphasizing environmental sustainability, labor protections, and consumer rights within agricultural contexts. His expertise spans constitutional challenges to industrial farming practices, worker safety litigation, and environmental impact cases targeting large-scale animal agriculture operations.

As Litigation Director of Public Justice’s Food Project, he leads strategic legal initiatives challenging industrial animal agriculture through constitutional, consumer protection, and environmental law frameworks. His prior legal experience includes prosecuting qui tam litigation, serving as the Alan Morrison Supreme Court Assistance Project Fellow with Public Citizen, and clerking for Judge James L. Dennis on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has previously taught Food, Agriculture, and Environmental Law at Vermont Law School and complex civil litigation at Georgetown University Law Center.
