David Rustom

David Rustom, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine and an Attending physician at the Pain Medicine and Physiatry Clinic. He has been a key figure in Detroit's medical community since 2005, serving as faculty for the PM&R residency and primary care Sports Medicine Fellowship, while also acting as Associate Program Director for the Pain Management Fellowship.

Dr. Rustom specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation with a focus on pain management. His clinical interests include lumbar/cervical spondylosis, spinal stenosis, CRPS, joint pain, peripheral neuropathy, post-surgical pain, failed knee and back syndrome, and chronic pain. He employs an interdisciplinary approach, collaborating with therapists, psychologists, and nutritional specialists, and is skilled in ultrasound/fluoroscopic-guided injections, epidurals, lumbar rhizotomy, minimally invasive spinal procedures, and neuromodulation.

Actively engaged in medical societies, Dr. Rustom presents cases at local and regional conferences. He oversees research-related activities as a member of Wayne State University's Institutional Review Board. Outside medicine, he is deeply connected to Detroit, where all three of his children were born, and participates in outdoor activities and his children's school events.
