David Robbins is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Center for the Creative Economy within Virginia Commonwealth University's nationally top-ranked School of the Arts. A Richmond, Virginia native, he transitioned from law to a celebrated writing career in 1980, publishing 16 novels and four stage plays, including works optioned for film and Isaac’s Beacon series exploring historical events through fiction.

- B.A. in Theater and Speech, College of William & Mary (1976)
Research & Teaching Interests focus on advanced creative writing and narrative art development. As a literary educator, he emphasizes the craft of storytelling and community-based writing programs.
Scientific Awards include:
- Most Outstanding Literary Artist in Virginia (2018, Virginia Commission for the Arts)
Advocacy & Leadership: Robbins founded several initiatives, including James River Writers (aspiring writers), The Mighty Pen Project (military veterans' narratives), and Frontline Writers (Richmond first responders). He also co-founded the Podium Foundation and established The Pedestal Fund scholarship program.
Current Projects include writing a novel about the Great Flood in the time of Noah and continuing his teaching role at VCU.
