David Quiñonero Santiago

David Quiñonero Santiago is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), Faculty of Sciences, where he also serves as Vice Dean and Head of Studies for the Chemistry Bachelor's program. He has been a permanent faculty member since completing prestigious national research programs in Spain.

His research focuses on organic chemistry, particularly asymmetric synthesis, catalysis, and supramolecular systems. He is a member of the consolidated research group SUPRANANO, which investigates supramolecular and nanocapture systems. His teaching spans undergraduate and master’s levels, including Organic Chemistry II, Final Degree Projects, and Asymmetric Synthesis and Catalysis at the Master’s in Chemical Science and Technology.

With over 130 scientific publications and an h-index of 45, his scholarly output reflects sustained research excellence. He has earned four teaching quinquenios and four research sexenios, formal recognitions in the Spanish academic system.

He advises undergraduate and master’s students through final projects and external practices. His leadership roles include Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and coordination of the Chemistry degree program. He is a member of the Sistemas Supramoleculares y de Nanocaptura (SUPRANANO) research group, a recognized R&D&I structure at UIB, where he contributes to advancing molecular design and functional materials.
