David Pillow is a Professor and Assistant Chair in the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), affiliated with the College for Health, Community and Policy. His research focuses on authenticity, belongingness, ADHD medication perceptions, and quantitative methods.

His work examines how social motives and personality traits influence authenticity in various contexts, including social media ecosystems, political candidate evaluation, and ADHD treatment. He received a $5,000 grant (2018-2019) for studying predictors of bariatric surgical outcomes. His presentations at major conferences (Society of Personality and Social Psychology, Southwestern Psychological Association) address topics like HEXACO model relations with belongingness, stigma effects on authenticity, and social media self-presentation strategies.
