David Perkes is a Professor and Director of the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio at Mississippi State University (MSU). He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Utah (1985) and a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University (1983). His work focuses on community-driven design, coastal resilience, and sustainable development, particularly in Gulf Coast regions. He leads initiatives addressing environmental challenges and urban planning through innovative design solutions.
