David Papoular

David Papoular is a theoretical physicist and Junior Researcher (Chargé de Recherche) at CNRS, working at the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique et Modélisation (LPTM) at Université de Cergy-Pontoise, France. He previously held a postdoctoral fellowship at the BEC Center, University of Trento, Italy, and completed his PhD in 2011 at Université Paris-Sud under Prof. G.V. Shlyapnikov. He is an alumnus of École Normale Supérieure in Paris and obtained his Habilitation in 2024.

Papoular's research focuses on theoretical studies of ultracold atomic gases, including Bose-Einstein condensates and quantum many-body systems. His work explores phenomena such as quantum phase transitions, superfluid dynamics, and transport properties. He has pioneered applications of the Landauer-Büttiker formalism to bosonic systems and developed numerical methods for solving the Gross-Pitaevskii equation. Key areas of investigation include dipolar interactions, Feshbach resonances, and quantum evaporation processes in cold atom systems.

His contributions to quantum transport and ultracold systems have led to advancements in understanding quantized conductance and evaporative cooling techniques. Recent work includes studies of quantum scars in particle dynamics and dipolar-induced resonances in quasi-1D systems.
