David P. Tate is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Forensic Science at Syracuse University, serving as Associate Director of the Syracuse University Project Advance (SUPA). His roles include teaching courses such as FSC 465/665 - Introduction to Latent Prints and FSC 440/460 - Advanced Latent Prints. He holds an M.S. in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven and a B.S. in Human Biology from the University at Albany.
His expertise spans Latent Print Examination, Forensic Ridgeology, and Biometric Analysis. He is a Certified Latent Print Examiner (CLPE) through the International Association for Identification (IAI) and holds New York State certification. His professional training includes courses on courtroom testimony, forensic ethics, and statistical methodologies in fingerprint analysis.
David has extensive courtroom experience, testifying in state and federal courts as an expert in latent prints. His work at the Onondaga County Center for Forensic Sciences since 2007 involves analyzing latent prints under accreditation from ASCLD/LAB-International and the New York State Commission on Forensic Science.
