David Norman is a Researcher in the Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology department at the University of Dundee. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of London (1984), specializing in the synthesis of 2-5A analogues. His research focuses on structural biology, particularly using Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy to study protein-DNA interactions, histone modifications, and chromatin remodeling. Norman has contributed to projects such as the establishment of the Post-Genomics and Molecular Interactions Centre and collaborations with the University of St Andrews on EPR instrumentation. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to education and innovation.
Research interests include EPR-based distance measurements, spin label design, and structural characterization of biomacromolecules. Key projects involve the structural analysis of chromatin remodeling enzymes like Chd1 and histone chaperones, as well as the development of advanced EPR techniques.
