David Meger is an Associate Professor at the School of Computer Science, McGill University, where he serves as Co-Director of the Mobile Robotics Laboratory. He is affiliated with the Centre for Intelligent Machines, co-PI in the NSERC Canadian Robotics Network, and an Associate Member of Mila, the Quebec AI Institute.
Research Interests:
- Robotic object recognition and manipulators
- Reinforcement learning for robotics and continuous control
- Active vision and visual attention
- Visual navigation and imitation learning
- Decision making under uncertainty in indoor/field robotics
Scientific Awards & Recognitions:
- CIPPRS Award for Service to the Canadian Computer Vision community (2017)
- Best Paper Nomination at ICRA (postdoctoral research)
His software contributions (TD3, BCQ) are state-of-the-art implementations widely adopted in leading AI toolkits. He has held organizational roles at major conferences, including co-chair of Computer and Robot Vision (2013–2014) and local arrangements chair of ICRA 2019.
