David McNab is a Métis Professor at York University's Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, where he teaches Indigenous and Canadian Studies. With nearly four decades of experience in Aboriginal land and treaty rights, he serves as a claims advisor for multiple First Nations including Walpole Island Heritage Center. McNab holds a PhD from the University of Lancaster, an MA from McMaster University, and a BA from Waterloo Lutheran University.
His research examines Aboriginal land rights, Métis identities, and Canadian ethnohistory through interdisciplinary approaches combining historical analysis with community engagement. As a prolific scholar, he has authored and edited numerous books including Circles of Time: Aboriginal Land Rights and Resistance in Ontario and co-edited collections on blockades and Métis histories.
