David McCoy

David McCoy serves as Chair and Associate Professor of the Communication Sciences & Disorders Program at California State University, Chico within the School of Media, Entertainment and Communication, and holds a joint appointment as Chair and Associate Professor in the Communication Arts and Sciences Department. His offices are located in AJH 130E (Campus Zip 0350) and THMA 201A (Campus Zip 0502), with regular office hours held Tuesdays 1-3 PM both in-person and online.

Dr. McCoy's research focuses on core areas of Communication Sciences, specializing in Speech-Language Pathology and Communication Disorders. His work addresses critical challenges in human communication processes including language acquisition mechanisms, speech disorder pathologies, and hearing impairment interventions. The clinical emphasis of his research prioritizes therapeutic applications for neurogenic communication disorders and developmental language impairments across diverse populations.
