معرفی
David Manske is a Researcher at the Department of Bioenergy at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, Germany. He has been with the institution since 2018, focusing on the environmental impacts of renewable energy expansion and the development of monitoring systems like the EE-Monitor. His work integrates high-resolution spatial data to analyze renewable energy deployment's compatibility with natural conditions and local energy needs.
He leads the EE-Monitor project, which provides critical data on renewable energy expansion in Germany, particularly regarding nature conservation. His PhD research explores geospatial modeling of renewable energy systems using fine-scale data to inform climate-neutral energy strategies.
Manske collaborates on projects such as EEMonReport, InPositiv, and HI-CAM, addressing energy transition challenges. His publications since 2021 focus on renewable energy spatial dynamics, data infrastructure, and policy-relevant analysis. Notably, his team received the 2024 UFZ Research Award for advancing sustainable biomass use and energy transition monitoring tools.
Key technical contributions include datasets on renewable energy installations, heat pump integration studies, and energy system resilience frameworks. Manske’s work bridges environmental science and policy, emphasizing data-driven solutions for sustainable energy systems.
