David M. Krackhardt is Professor of Organizations at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy with a joint appointment at the Tepper School of Business. His research bridges network analysis methodology with organizational theory to examine power dynamics, structural change, and innovation diffusion.
Dr. Krackhardt's educational background includes:

A pioneer in cognitive social structures research, he investigates how individuals' perceptions of network topology influence organizational phenomena like turnover and reputation formation. His methodological contributions include adapting quadratic assignment procedures for network regression and developing graph-theoretic approaches to organizational architecture. Current work focuses on Simmelian ties, controversial innovation diffusion, network visualization techniques, and strategic intervention points for organizational transformation across psychology, sociology, and management domains.
