David Li

Dr David Li is a Senior Lecturer (Reader) in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. His research focuses on time-resolved imaging and spectroscopy systems, fluorescence-based sensing, digital signal processing, embedded systems, and AI-enhanced image analysis for biomedical applications.

Research interests span Biomedical Engineering, Optoelectronics, and Artificial Intelligence, with applications in glucose sensing, cancer diagnosis, and brain blood flow monitoring. Collaborations include institutions in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, France, China, the USA, and Taiwan.

Recent publications (2025) highlight deep learning implementations for diffuse correlation spectroscopy and SPAD array technologies, with societal impact in hydrogen fuel safety and ophthalmic imaging.
