David Lewis

David Lewis is a Professor and Executive Dean of the Merger Integration Management Office at the University of Adelaide, where he also serves as Head of the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials. He is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with extensive leadership experience in academia and industry, having previously managed a technology startup focused on sustainable oil production through hydrothermal liquefaction.

His research focuses on low carbon solutions at the energy-water-environment nexus, particularly in the development of sub-critical water technologies for hydrothermal liquefaction. This work addresses waste management and sustainable resource utilization, with applications in the petroleum and municipal wastewater sectors. Key areas include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, and process control.
