معرفی
Dr. David Law serves as an Associate Professor, Assistant Dean, and Chair of Biotechnology at Lakehead University's School of Applied Life Sciences. He holds a HBSc from Carleton University and a PhD from Queen's University. His research explores molecular aquatic toxicology, plant biochemistry, and epigenetics, focusing on environmental impacts like industrial effluents on fish reproduction and plant developmental responses. Dr. Law has contributed to over 15 peer-reviewed publications, including work on biomarker detection via nanoparticle sensors and genetic mutations linked to rare human conditions. His teaching spans molecular biology, plant biotechnology, and developmental biology.
Research highlights include studies on chromatin remodeling in plant cells and the molecular responses of potato tubers during dormancy. His work bridges fundamental biology with applied biotechnology, addressing environmental and agricultural challenges. Dr. Law's career includes prior roles at Monsanto and the USDA Agricultural Research Service, enriching his interdisciplinary approach to science.
His laboratory focuses on cutting-edge techniques such as laser capture microdissection and transgenic plant systems. He collaborates widely, contributing to both basic and applied research initiatives in environmental toxicology and plant molecular biology.
