David L. Patient

David L. Patient is an Associate Professor at Vlerick Business School (Belgium) since 2020 and a Visiting Professor at CATÓLICA-LISBON. He holds a law degree from University College London and an MBA/PhD from the Sauder School of Business (University of British Columbia). His research focuses on managerial communication, employee motivation, and organizational justice, published in journals like Journal of Management and Strategic Management Journal.

His research explores themes such as justice dynamics, burnout prevention, and ethical leadership. Recent work addresses crisis management and systemic organizational fairness. He served on the Academy of Management’s Board of Governors (2016–2019).

David leads CUBE, a research unit focusing on business and economic challenges. His teaching spans leadership development, managerial communication, and organizational behavior.
