Dr. David Korsuize serves as a Lecturer in International Relations in Historical Perspective at Utrecht University's Department of History and Art History since 2023. His research focuses on European history and the history of international relations through the lens of German federal monarchies during the Kaiserreich period.

His research examines how German princely houses maintained transnational diplomatic roles within the unified German Empire, challenging traditional assumptions about the obsolescence of regional monarchs in international affairs. Current work explores dynastic networks, royal mediation in crises, and cultural diplomacy during 1871-1918.
Publications demonstrate consistent engagement with themes of modern monarchy studies, transnational history, and German federalism. His most recent book (2027) redefines understanding of princely federalism in the Kaiserreich, while earlier works analyze specific cases like Grand Duke Carl Alexander and the Dutch throne connections.
