David Knox is an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa's School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He holds a Ph.D. and is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). Prior to his academic career, he worked for 20 years in design engineering and management at companies like BNR/Nortel and Tropic Networks, specializing in ASIC design and optical networking systems. At the University of Ottawa, he has developed and teaches engineering design courses, including Secure Software Design and Embedded Computer System Design. His research focuses on mobile device security, privacy in networks, multiprocessor theory, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. He is an IEEE Member and emphasizes experiential education and educational technologies in his work.
