His research investigates US foreign policy formation through an imperial lens, tracing its evolution from the Spanish-American War to the postwar era. Current projects explore multipolarity's challenges to US global authority. He belongs to LSE's International Political Economy, Security and Statecraft, and Theory/Area/History research clusters, and is affiliated with the Phelan United States Centre.
Pedagogically, he connects historical materialism to contemporary career trajectories. Though currently unavailable to supervise PhD students, his work engages interdisciplinary debates across IR, political theory, and American political development.
