معرفی
David Joseph Moore is a Professor at the University of Arizona, specializing in plant ecology and ecosystem science. He holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Illinois and a BSc in Botany from University College Dublin. Since 2011, he has been affiliated with the University of Arizona, focusing on teaching and research in ecosystem ecology, global carbon cycles, and environmental sustainability. His work integrates field studies, remote sensing, and modeling to understand carbon dynamics, phenology, and ecosystem responses to climate change.
Moore teaches courses such as Sustainable Earth (INDIV 150C) and Earth’s Changing Carbon Cycle (RNR 427/527). He is also a leader in the Fluxcourse program, a NSF/DOE-supported initiative training researchers in flux modeling and measurements. His research emphasizes forests, land surface modeling, and data assimilation to improve predictions of terrestrial carbon storage and climate interactions.
Key research interests include ecosystem ecology, biogeochemistry, and the application of remote sensing in dryland ecosystems. He has received awards for education and excellence in earth science, including the 2019 AGU Excellence Award and the 2014 Outstanding Faculty honor.
Moore’s contributions span over 100 peer-reviewed articles, focusing on topics like disturbance recovery, climate impacts on ecosystems, and the integration of satellite data with ecological models. His work bridges ecological theory with applied solutions for sustainable land management and climate resilience.
