Dr. David Jenkins is an Associate Professor of Nanomaterials and Devices at the University of Plymouth, affiliated with the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. His research focuses on advanced nanomaterials, optoelectronic devices, and sustainable environmental technologies. Key areas include graphene-based sensors, photocatalytic water treatment systems, and UV detection technologies.
His work integrates material science with engineering applications, addressing challenges in renewable energy, pollution control, and biomedical diagnostics. Recent studies emphasize nanocomposite synthesis for environmental remediation and quantum light emitter optimization for optical communication.
Dr. Jenkins has contributed over 50 publications since 2001, with a strong focus on applied nanotechnology and sustainable solutions. His research often bridges fundamental material science with real-world applications, such as improving solar cell efficiency and developing low-cost water purification systems for rural communities.
