Dr David Jeevendrampillai is a Lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of Manchester, specializing in the anthropology of outer space. His research focuses on the curation and narration of Earth imagery from the International Space Station, technology and modernity, and the politics of place. He explores emergent conceptions of the human body and technology, intersecting with land rights, post-cosmopolitanisms, and colonialism.
He contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through interdisciplinary work in space science, engaging with global challenges. His recent publications include a book on outer space ethnography and chapters on Mars colonization, human waste management in space, and policy narratives in space science.
