David Janzen is the President of Tabor College and a Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Kansas, along with an M.S. and B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science. His academic career includes roles as Coordinator of the Software Engineering program at Cal Poly and entrepreneurial ventures such as co-founding Steadfast Innovation, LLC and managing Simex's applied development team. His professional highlights include a patent for fraud detection technology (2001) and recognition as a Fellow in Cal Poly's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (2015).
Dr. Janzen’s research focuses on improving computer science education through innovative pedagogical approaches, including test-driven development integration, mobile learning technologies, and diversity/inclusivity initiatives.
