David J. Tweardy

David J. Tweardy, M.D., is a tenured Professor and Head of the Division of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He holds a primary appointment in the Department of Infectious Diseases, Infection Control, and Employee Health, and a dual appointment in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Oncology within the Division of Basic Science Research. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Baylor College of Medicine in the Section of Infectious Diseases.

His research focuses on infectious diseases in cancer patients, infection control in immunocompromised hosts, and the intersection of inflammation and oncology.
