David Hundt is an Associate Professor of International Relations at Deakin University's School of Humanities and Social Sciences, where he also serves as Director of the Masters of International Relations program. His research focuses on Australia's economic and security relations with South Korea, Korean immigration to Australia, and comparative responses to China's rise in the Indo-Pacific region.
Dr. Hundt teaches courses in International Relations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including AIR350 (Australia and the Indo-Pacific) and AIR747 (Contemporary International Politics). His research employs comparative political economy frameworks to analyze foreign policy decisions and regional security dynamics.
As an expert on Korean-Australian relations, Dr. Hundt maintains extensive networks with Korean academia, government officials, and civil society organizations. He currently serves as President of the Asian Studies Association of Australia and has led several internationally funded research projects examining diaspora communities and bilateral relations.
