David Hoffer

David Hoffer is an Adjunct Professor in the Interaction Design Program at the California College of the Arts (CCA), where he contributes his extensive industry expertise in design leadership and user experience. He works within the School of Design, mentoring students through a practice-informed lens grounded in real-world applications.

His research and professional interests focus on interaction design, human-computer interaction, and user-centered design methodologies. He emphasizes leveraging user research, data, and domain knowledge to build effective digital products and experiences. His teaching philosophy integrates industry best practices with creative exploration, fostering innovation in design education.

David is an active voice in the design community, publishing insights on Medium and maintaining a personal creative gallery that re-contextualizes digital pixels in artistic forms. He advocates for the transformative power of design and education in addressing societal challenges.

He has previously held key design roles at leading organizations including Amazon, McGraw-Hill, Frog Design, McKinsey, and Pricewaterhouse Coopers, bringing a rich professional background into the classroom. As an adjunct faculty member, he contributes part-time to CCA’s academic mission while maintaining external professional engagement.
