David Herrin is an Associate Professor and Director of the Vibro-Acoustics Consortium at the University of Kentucky's Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering. His research focuses on noise and vibration control, leveraging expertise in finite element analysis, acoustic materials, and structural dynamics.

In 2016, he explained how snow acts as a natural sound absorber, drawing parallels to commercial materials like foams and fibers.
