David Heller is an organist and faculty member at Trinity University's Department of Music, where he teaches organ, harpsichord, church music skills, and music theory. As Associate Organist at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, he maintains an active performance career with international recitals and four critically acclaimed recordings. His expertise in hymnody is documented in his book Manual on Hymn Playing, and he regularly lectures for organizations including the American Guild of Organists.
His research focuses on sacred music traditions with emphasis on hymn interpretation and Gregorian chant adaptations. Performance venues span historic instruments like the Rosales organ at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and the Charles Kegg organ at Texas A&M International University.
