David Handron is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University, serving as Interim Director of the BSCF Program. He holds a Ph.D. from Rice University. His research focuses on Morse theory applications to manifolds with corners, billiard path dynamics, and configuration spaces. He teaches differential equations emphasizing computational techniques as extensions of traditional methods. His work bridges analytical, numerical, and qualitative approaches in mathematical education.
Research interests include topology of manifolds with boundaries, geodesics, and planar linkages. He has published on Morse theory in Topology and its Applications. Courses taught span introductory calculus to advanced topology and discrete finance. Office: Wean Hall 6214.
