David Green

David Green is Reader in Geosciences at the University of Aberdeen, where he directs the MSc in GIS programme and leads the Aberdeen Institute for Coastal Science and Management. His research spans geographical information systems, UAV remote sensing, coastal zone management, and precision viticulture. With degrees from the University of Edinburgh and Toronto, Green has secured funding from Interreg programmes and leads projects on coastal vulnerability and spatial disparities.

His work employs advanced geospatial technologies including drone-based monitoring of mangroves, coastal erosion mapping, and silvopastoral system analysis. Recent publications demonstrate methodological innovation in Bayesian spatial analysis of healthcare access and UAV applications in urban environments.

Green has received numerous awards including Santander Mobility Awards, Quality Coast Award, and RSGS XYZ Digital Award. He teaches courses in hydrography, UAV remote sensing, and GIS across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
