معرفی
Dr. David Grawe is Head of the MeMi Canopies Group and a member of the CEN Urban Climate Lab at the University of Hamburg's Meteorological Institute. His primary affiliation is with the MIN Faculty (Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Fakultät) within the Department of Earth System Sciences. He represents the University of Hamburg in the DKRZ user group and contributes to the METRAS-PCL community model development.
Research Interests:
- Urban climate dynamics and air quality
- Meso- and micro-scale atmospheric modelling
- Evaluation of numerical weather prediction models
- Impact of urban adaptation measures on climate
Recent Research Trends:
Dr. Grawe's work focuses on urban environmental challenges, including particulate emissions from traffic (tyre/brake wear), obstacle-resolving atmospheric models, and precipitation modification induced by urban structures. His studies emphasize high-resolution data (250m resolution) for Hamburg's climate scenarios, parameterization techniques for urban canopies, and model standardization for FAIR data practices.
Professional Roles:
- Chairman of VDI working group on microscale wind field model evaluation
- Member of multiple committees (IAUC, CEN Mirror Group, Air Quality Commission)
Teaching:
- Urban Climatology
- Data Processing for Meteorology
- Advanced atmospheric modelling courses
Labs/Teams:
Leads the MeMi Canopies Group and collaborates with the CEN Urban Climate Lab and METRAS-PCL modelling community.
