Dr David Gonzalez-Chica is an Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with both the Adelaide Medical School and Adelaide Rural Clinical School. As a medical doctor, pediatrician, and senior epidemiologist, he has over 20 years of clinical and research experience across Brazil and Australia.
Research Focus:
- Design and implementation of quantitative health studies
- Rural primary healthcare systems
- Health equity and data-driven governance
- Chronic disease management in indigenous populations
- Medical education and workforce development
Current Projects include initiatives in medication safety, diabetes monitoring disparities, AI-assisted diagnostics, and rural clinical trial networks, supported by grants from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) and Primary Health Networks.
