Dr. David Gindis is an Associate Professor at the Hertfordshire Business School, University of Hertfordshire. His research focuses on institutional economics, law and economics, political economy, and corporate governance, with a particular emphasis on corporate personality and the legal-economic theory of the firm. He has published extensively, including a forthcoming book with Edward Elgar on corporate personality. Gindis holds a BA, MA, MPhil, and PhD in Economics, and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
His research interests span theories of the firm, organization theory, and business ethics, with recent projects exploring the history of law and economics and the application of polycentric governance to corporations. He has received prestigious awards, including the Herbert Simon Young Scholar Prize (2008) and the History of Economic Analysis Award (2021). As a co-founder of the World Interdisciplinary Network for Institutional Research (WINIR), he actively contributes to interdisciplinary academic networks.
Gindis teaches courses on microeconomics and political economy, integrating theoretical frameworks with practical business challenges. His work bridges legal, economic, and philosophical perspectives, addressing contemporary debates on corporate responsibility and institutional evolution.
