Dr. David Gilani serves as Head of Access and Participation at Middlesex University, where he leads student engagement initiatives and alumni relations within the School of Education & Student Experience. He holds a PhD in student belonging from the University of York and founded the Student Publication Association (2012). Gilani also chairs AHEP’s Student Experience and Engagement Network, promoting cross-institutional collaboration in UK higher education.
His research focuses on student belonging, retention strategies, and equity in higher education.
