Associate Professor David Gabriel Regan is an Infectious Disease Modeller at the Kirby Institute, University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney), since 2005. As Leader of the Sexually Transmitted Infections Prevention Modelling Group within Biostatistics and Databases Program, he focuses on mathematical models for disease transmission dynamics and public health interventions.

- Research spans STIs, HPV vaccination, AMR, NTDs, and climate change impacts on infectious diseases
- Specializes in computational simulations and genomic data analysis for transmission networks
His work informs policy in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, particularly regarding Indigenous health and disease control strategies. Currently supervises three PhD students with interdisciplinary approaches to gonorrhoea modeling, social network epidemiology, and climate change adaptation in tropical disease surveillance.
