Dr. David Fenton is a Lecturer in Theatre at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Creative Arts. With over 37 years of experience, he has directed over 65 professional theatre productions, blending academic and artistic roles. His expertise spans Post-dramatic Theatre, Intermedial Theatre, and Applied Theatre. He holds a PhD in Performance Innovation (2008) from QUT, winning the Philip Parsons Prize for 'Performance as Research'.

- Key Roles: Acting CEO of Metro Arts (2014–15), Head of Performance Practices at NIDA (2012–14), Artistic Director of Replay Theatre (Northern Ireland, 2009–10)
Research interests include performance ontology, intermediality, and queer theory. Recent works like 'Wounded Parties' (2024) explore post-humanism and autoethnography. Awards include the Groundlings Award (2013) and the Philip Parsons Prize (2007).
Supervision: Currently advising doctoral research on martial arts therapy and rural pedagogical perspectives in visual arts education.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with the School of Creative Arts on community health initiatives, such as the 'Resilience' exhibition at St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital (2024).
