David F. Holland is the John A. Bartlett Professor of New England Church History and Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs at Harvard Divinity School. He holds a BA from Brigham Young University and an MA/PhD from Stanford University. His research explores the intersection of theological commitments and cultural changes in American life from the 17th to the 19th centuries. Key publications include *Sacred Borders* (Oxford University Press, 2011) and contributions to the *Oxford Handbook on Seventh-day Adventism*. Current projects include a co-authored volume *Ideas and Ideals in the American Past* (Oxford) and a biography of 19th-century figures Ellen Gould White and Mary Baker Eddy (Yale University Press).
