David Douglas is a Part-Time Professor at the School of Cinema, Concordia University, teaching since 1990. His teaching focuses on early film history, Cuban cinema, Canadian cinema, and critical courses on the American film industry, World Cinema(s), Bollywood, Film Theory, and the Musical.
Education: PhD from Northwestern University.
Research Interests: Span film history, film industry studies, Canadian and Cuban cinema, film-politics intersections, and avant-garde/independent cinemas. He specializes in the works of Larry Kent.
Contributions: Creator of the Pioneers in Independent Canadian Cinema Project, overseeing the restoration and DVD release of key films by Larry Kent, Clarke Mackey, and Frank Vitale.
