David DiVincenzo is a Professor of Theoretical Nanoelectronics at RWTH Aachen University and Director of the Institute of Theoretical Nanoelectronics (PGI-2) at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany. He holds a secondary appointment as a part-time Professor of Electrical Engineering at TU Delft (5%). His primary roles include leadership in quantum information research and theoretical nanoscience. DiVincenzo received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania (1983), followed by postdoctoral work at Cornell University and a 26-year tenure at IBM Watson Research Center. He was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship (2010) and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society (1999). His research established foundational criteria for quantum computing and solid-state qubit systems. He co-directs the JARA Institute for Quantum Information and serves as Associate Editor of Reviews of Modern Physics.
