Professor David Demeritt is a distinguished academic in Geography at King's College London, specializing in environmental risk governance, climate change policy, and science studies. He holds a BA in History, MSc in Quaternary Science, and PhD in Geography. His career includes leadership roles in research initiatives, such as directing King's Interdisciplinary Social Science (KISS) Doctoral Training Centre and co-directing the Leverhulme Centre for Wildfires, Environment and Society. He actively serves on UK government advisory groups like the Natural Hazards Partnership and DEFRA's Flood & Coastal Erosion Risk Management Programme.
