David Delfs Erbo Andersen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science, Aarhus University. His research focuses on democratization, state building, bureaucratic quality, and Scandinavian political history, employing comparative-historical methods and process tracing.

Selected projects include: Disentangling Scandinavian Democratic Exceptionalism (2019–2023), The Institutional Foundations of Democracy (2016–2022), and Staten og demokratisk stabilitet (2013–2017). His work often combines empirical studies with theoretical frameworks to understand institutional development and democratic resilience.
