David Curtis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family & Consumer Studies at the University of Utah's College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. He serves as Interim Director of the Health, Society & Policy Program and holds a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University (2018).
His research examines public health, epidemiology, and health services, focusing on neighborhood effects, racial disparities, and social determinants of health across the lifespan. Major themes include the impact of socioeconomic conditions on aging, environmental influences on cardiometabolic health, and structural barriers in healthcare.
Recent publications collectively demonstrate a focus on health inequities, environmental determinants of chronic diseases, and longitudinal analyses of community health outcomes. Research methodologies integrate geographic data, clinical metrics, and population-level statistics.
