David Cochran is a Professor of Politics at Loras College, serving as Co-Director of the Peace and Justice Minor while also directing or co-directing the Irish Studies minor and St. John Paul II Scholars program.

Research spans war and peace studies, religion/race/ethnicity dynamics in U.S. politics, political theory, and Irish studies. His scholarly output includes five published books and numerous articles, with a sixth book The Catholic Case Against War: A Brief Guide forthcoming from University of Notre Dame Press in 2024.
