David Charifson

David Charifson is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Davidson College. He holds a Ph.D. from Stony Brook University and a B.S. from SUNY New Paltz, focusing on marine invertebrate zoology and evolutionary ecology.

• Research Interests: Phenotypic plasticity, organismal responses to environmental variation, molluscan biomineralization, shell construction, and interior shell remodeling in the context of predator-induced defenses.
• Teaching: Courses include BIO 114 (Integrated Concepts in Biology II), BIO 240 (Biostatistics for Life Scientists), and BIO 234 (Marine Biology).
